My Bucket List

In regards to the movie the bucket list, well we all know i wont see it cause i tend to steer clear of movies made for a specific genre of people (movies involving ALL old people made FOR old people, movies made for specific races, Mormon movies...etc). Well we all know that i mainly only watch movies involving some sort of performance (ie, mean girls-jingle bell rock dance, bring it on-start to finish, 27 dresses-Benny and the jets..you get the idea)

But as requested by Whitneys tag, here is my bucket list. I am making this up as i go because i have actually never thought about it. Only when i watch A Walk To Remember (performance=duh, the school play, and mandys Only Hope) do I ever think it might be fun to create some sort of list so here we go....

im not going to state the obvious like get married, have kids, and never be homeless.

-take up photography with a really good camera
-create a seriously good recipe to pass down through my kids
-own a volvo
-start a book club
-organize a fundraiser
-sit in the audience for Oprah's favorite things show
-plan an extremely over the top wedding for someone else
-have an MTV cribs-like closet
-learn the harmonica
-get laser hair removal done on everything but my eyebrows

My dad works on computers, yeah and hes um, the boss of his company.

Late last night, a woman in my sisters ward called to ask me to sub her kindergarten class. Um. Do i have any sort of credentials? Of course not. Makes perfect sense for me to be molding young minds, wouldn't you say?
Little 5 year olds for 6 hours? No problem. It was actually pretty fun and I must say i am a natural Kindergarten teacher, minus the gray hair, wooden bead apple necklaces, and grandchildren. I think mainly because of my extensive training from Kindergarten Cop. I was THIS close to doing the exercise "who is your daddy and what does he do?" but we ran out of time.

The day first started with a bright and shiny red-head saying "Teacher! Matt was saying ass today before class...." ahahahaha oh the joys of tattle tails and naive children. I laughed on the inside and ignored such comments on the outside.

Later we were doing math problems that turned into a puzzle you cut out and color. It was kind of confusing for the kids but i knew they could do it.

me: its hard i know, you have to use your mind AND your motor skills.
cute kid: (totally serious) I think you mean my Ninja skills.
Oh....did i forget to mention that its a Private LDS K-8 School? So basically its a glorified home school. Maybe even slightly weirder than home school. But with adorable uniforms. And yes, those are President Hinckley caricatures colored in by youngsters. And I know what you're thinking, and yes, President Hinckley does look good blond. And also as Elton John.

One of my dear friends Lanni Romney had her little guy, Max Park Romney yesterday via C-section after like 15 hours of pushing. Lawyer turned Mommy. He's gotta be easier and a hell of a lot cuter than some of your clients who don't speak english.

Way to go giving birth. Way to go.

its not a big deal, but i just won tickets to the Rascal Flatts concert on the radio.

March 8th, Mandalay Bay. Me and my sister megan will be there. SUCKAS!

2008 looks great

but 2007 wasnt so bad either....

here are a few of my faves from the past year...

2007 BEST THINGS:
1. Meeting my CUZ, and best pal Casey
2. Road trips to California, Vegas and my first trip to Texas (technically 2nd)
3. Hanging out with my sister Erin that i never get to see, this past Christmas
4. The announcement of babies from some of my best friends-Linsey, Lanni and Camilla (and a birth from Raquel and Kaisa!)
5. The purchase of my big flat screen
6. Katie Holmes cutting her hair, it inspired me to chop it all off (and today i got my first 'you know whose hair you have? that wife of Tom Cruise. You have her same hair!" it was at the bank and it made me so happy)

2007 NOT SO BEST THINGS:
1. Jobs that i hate
2. Everyone left me alone in Provo
3. Being stranded in Dallas on business
4. Missing having long hair to put in a ponytail
5. Never seeing Kaisas or Raquels babies...(we will unite in March, and i cant even wait to bite the cheeks off of Cosette and Rafe)

Worth a Read....

If you know me, you know I love to read. And i just finished a series of books by the Author Emily Giffin that i really liked.

Something Borrowed, Something Blue and Baby Proof.

They are really easy, fun reads...my sister is working on the first book now and can't put it down (and shes not really a reader).

Anyway i know this isnt the blog post everyone was looking for, but it will have to do for now. GO GET THESE BOOKS!!!

Need a Haircut?

Don't you love getting your haircut? I love love love it. And now that i have found the greatest stylist in the world, i feel like i owe it to you to, to spread the word.

Her name is Sarah, and she works at Haven Salon in South Provo(100S 359W-801/379-0540). She is SO good and so darling and easy to talk to and her hands are magical as she washes your hair. I cant say it enough-how happy i am to have an amazing stylist in my life.

My camera is dead otherwise i would add a picture of todays new haircut, but its so stinking cute and exactly what i wanted. GO SEE HER!

One Laptop for Every Child

this blog is coming straight to you from the coolest/dumbest piece of technology. I am writing this from my friend Richard's little teeny kids laptop (i'll add a picture later. i dont know how to really use this)

here i am looking really good, write after posting this blog

From what i gathered from Richard. a philanthropist MIT student created this handy little machine with the intent to sell it to governments around the world for a very low price so that children everywhere can learn to use a computer. For some reason, Richard bought one...and its the cutest looking computer ever. It looks sort of like a leapfrog "see 'n say" type of thing, with shrek-like ears (antennas) and a handle that replicates that of a lunchbox. Its bright green, and the charger looks cheezy enough for a cricket phone. I couldnt love it more.

And i dont know much about getting it to 3rd world countries, but i think my 3 yr old nephew would love this...he could watch all his favoriet disneyland rides on youtube, and upload his pictures from his new fisher price digital camera.
