Straight from Twilly's mouth!

Sorry for the 1 trillion posts lately but blog worthy things keep happening.

One of my dear friends Ashlee, who lives in Huntington was minding her own business with a handful of my other friends, when Cameron notices Twilly from the bachelorette sitting at the bar. He offered Martha money to flirt with him but she was too shy it turns out, so he then offered ashlee a free meal if she went and talked to him. So she did.
here is martha (sitting next to Derek in the blue shirt) debating on whether or not to do it. Twilly is in the background sitting at the bar in the gray shirt.and here is ashlee talking to twilly. Shes the blond in the green shirt, you can only see her back. cameron took these on his iphone.

He was in town taping "the men tell all" episode, and he told her that its all pretty real except for when they had him waiting for her after her date with graham. Apparently his story is that they told him DeAnna wanted to talk him personally, and to wait there. And by the time he figured out what was going on it was too late and he looked like an idiot. And he also said he liked all the guys except Jesse and Justin (who is justin?). He said Jesse was fake and a liar. She also said Twilly is way better looking in person and that he was really nice and has hot friends.

Just a little Flashback

I'm sure from reading my blog you can all tell that I love my job. I feel really grateful to have a job that i don't dread. Most of the time i am ready for the weekend to get over so that i can come to work. I love the people i work with and work for and its truly just this huge blessing in my life.

Anyway, it hasn't always been this way. Last summer when i was living in Provo before i started working at Icon i worked somewhere else. This is the email i wrote to some friends after my first day of work...

Lets go back in time to May 8, 2007 ...

"Ok so i started a new job this morning....at Family & friends Hearing health care...in other words a place where the geriatrics of utah county come to get hearing aids. So i go in at 7:45, they told me to be early, and i SIT there for 45 minutes before they show up at 8:30...and when i say "they" i mean, Dr Swensen and his son, Robert.

Robert is approx 6'5" weighing in at roughly 130 lbs. His pants are pulled up to his chest, and floating about 4 inches off the ground. his short sleeved green button up is tucked into his pants (at chest level) and he is 25 years old. He also has the personality of a mouse and lucky enough, the voice of one too.

So his dad, the audiologist excitedly tells me, their new receptionist, that i am going to be performing my first "ear wax removal". UH WHAT? He instructs me to go downstairs to the kitchen and get some warm water (i couldn't use the bathroom because "Robert is suffering from colitis and has to frequent the bathroom"...so it was occupied). So once i fetched water i come upstairs into the patients room and he instructs me to fill the large metal syringe with the water, hold the little tub next to the mans face tightly so he doesn't get wet and then count to 3 and "BLAST" the water into his ear canal. So i do this...no gloves, no training at 8:35, and out sprays water (now milky due to bacteria, dirt and wax), and chunks of yellow and brown and BLACK earwax. Most of this does not go in the tub which is why the patient is wearing a cape. but most of it does go on me. On my hands, arms and clothes. I immediately started gagging, so he excused me to the bathroom to throw out the wax water in the toilet...and lo and behold what do i find? Remnants of diarrhea from Robert. More gagging comes, resulting in me throwing up on the toilet and on the floor. So i come out asking for cleaning supplies, still gagging, and Robert points me to the cleaning supplies. So i proceed to clean up my own vomit. And once that as done, and my arms and legs and mouth and face were scrubbed clean from wax water he had me do it again, TWICE. And then he wanted me to learn how to clean hearing aids. Since when does a receptionist flush someones ear? Because that is not what i signed up for. More importantly i just couldn't do it, i was gagging. So i just graciously resigned this morning at 9:15 and then walked down state street to maceys where i called Doug to pick me up."

Man i just cannot say it enough, I LOVE MY JOB here in Las Vegas.

Baby, I Still Got It!

Part of my job is issuing checks to terminated employees and some of the time these ex-employees are totally nasty. Today was no exception.

In walks Mr. Nasty. Approximately 50 years of age, a nice big black (dyed, i could see his gray roots) fluffy mullet, big diamond earrings (we are talking huge and undoubtedly fake), and a Louis Vuitton wallet (also fake im sure). He asked me where i was from, i told him Sacramento, he told me that sounds like a nice place. And then he left. It was all business. I went to the back and was laughing hard with the ladies about how nasty he was, and then he comes back in, i wasnt prepared. He marches in and hands me his card "Quick Credit Repair, LLC" with the slogan under it "the mercedes benz of credit repair"..and he says "give me a call..." and starts to walk out. And then he turns around and says "are you dating anyone? you married?" and i blurt out "YESSSS!" and he goes "oh, uh well...maybe you could still give me a call sometime."

BARF.

We rewound the servaillance tapes and sure enough after he left the first time he walked out to his explorer, opened up the back and rummaged through it looking for a business card (i think), and then closed the window and fluffed his hair before marching back in to woo me. SO GROSS.

If anyone needs their credit repaired i can call my boyfriend for you. I have his card.here he is, in all his fluffy haired beauty. My desk is right behind him...hahaha so funny.

This ones for Ally

I wasnt going to blog about the bachelorette for fear of people thinking "we get it! you like the bachelorette!" But Ally convinced me that alot of other people like it too so here are my two cents.

First before i start i would just like to say that i cannot hear Jesse's original song for Deanna enough. Its so freaking funny.

Deanna, you make me smile on the inside
and laugh on the outside, Deanna.
(touching)

Ok so first we followed Deanna to Jesses hometown in CO. They snowboarded, looks fun enough (except that i hate snowboarding) and they go back to his little townhouse which was totally adorable. Nice one Jesse, you live like a man, but you organize and clean like a lady. I really liked his place. And then we meet his parents and they were nice and normal and that was good and then they finally kissed which was also good. I know most of you hate Jesse, but i dont. I know hes not the most attractive guy on the show, but hes the most normal and the nicest and is someone i would actually probably hang out with and possibly have a crush on.

Next up, Nasty McNasterton, Jeremy in Dallas. First of all, the dude has a bullet bike. STRIKE ONE. Secondly, his place wasnt that great. She thought it was the greatest thing ever. It was cold, decorated with no personality at all, and he had his board exam study posters still on the wall because he just "hasnt taken them down yet" PUHLEASE. No one is impressed. Youre not even asian like we all thought. And i hate to offend anyone, and yes its incredibly sad that both of his parents passed away, but reading your private private journal to a girl you barely know and ALL of america seems a little bit like a tool-move, wouldnt you say? And stop talking about how you guys share this bond over dead parents. COME ON. Lets move on to something else that really matters in your compatability like if you have anything REAL in common.

After Jeremys Deanna went to Jasons in Seattle. I just think Jason is so darling and nice. I kind of think hes too good for Deanna. Shes pretty boring and stupid even though she thinks shes awesome and SO SMART. But anyway, they go to the space needle which is pretty cool, but they just sit in the resturaunt, boring. And the view that she was just obsessed with, its buildings mostly isnt it? I mean its pretty but its not like this majestic beautiful view. Anyway she goes and meets his son and she has something for him. A GOLFBALL! What? really? a golfball for a 3 year old. Has she ever been around a child before? So maybe the golfball wasnt so good, lets try something else...a certificate for a star. SERIOUSLY DEANNA. The kid is 3, all he sees is paper. Get him a car, get him a buzz lightyear, buy him a coloring book at the dollar store, ANYTHING that maybe a kid actually might like.

Lastly she went to my boyfriend Grahams house in NC. He is so hot. There is just no getting around this. Even is awkwardness and his not talking would of been ok with me. I mean, he doesnt even know her. Shes kissing all these other guys, that has to be kind of scary right? I dont know, well actually i know, that i wouldnt be able to be like "i am falling in love with you" because i couldnt and wouldnt be able to fall in love with someone who was dating all these other people. So i am still pro graham even though he was awkward city.

So she sends Graham home. Kind of a shocker, but not really a huge shocker. She loves herself and she wants someone who is obsessed with her. I mean that sounds great and fair but these people dont even know eachother. I have to have Grahams back a little on this one. Also he had to feel stupid so thats probably why he was kind of mouthy to her when she was explaining herself. And bless his little 7th grade heart that he wrote her a note. Poor guy. But mainly poor Deanna for getting rid of the one person that she actually liked. That girl is an idiot.

The End.

Mini Minivan

So the saturn was a bad idea from the start. So comparing it to my new ride, the Pontiac Vibe, would be just ridiculous so we wont.

Why the Vibe is awesome:

-tinted windows
-electrical outlet (already used to charge my ipod-best invention ever, all cars need one)
-seats that fold flat, to accommodate 30+ church chairs to and from my sisters piano recital.
-plastic backed seats so that said chairs dont leave any sort of ding
-a fast and the furious sound system including aux outlet so i can plug in my ipod
-excellent gas mileage
-a warranty
-and one really, really, good looking and charming, professional-soccer-playing salesman.

Popcorn Cupcakes

start out with large cupcakes made with the large muffin tin
frost with buttercream
candy popcorn with caro syrup, sugar, and a packet of lemon jello
make red and white striped cup holders
and ta-da! Little buckets of delicious popcorn!

Weekly Dump

K so i havent done this in a couple of weeks so its going to be more than weeks worth of brain dump (still got to shout out to Nat for the brain dump idea)

-The Bachelorette...worthy of more than just a bullet point

Ok so the Deanna tells all episode, cant say that i watched it because my sister warned me ahead of time that it was just a recap of everything we have already seen. WHO CARES ABC? But she did tell me to watch Sean at his home talking about how much he loves nice things and how rich he is. What a tool. Did anyone else besides my sister and I, notice that the muscle tee he was wearing had a zipper on the shoulder? It was probably really expensive and also it was really ugly.
Graham is just hot, i cant really put my finger on what it is. His scruff? His tan, lean body? HES JUST HOT. And apparently hes not just a pretty face...good to know.
Jason is so darling too, and if he doesnt get picked, can he be the next bachelor? i just think hes such a gem.
The rest of them i dont care much about. Jesse is normal, not very attractive thought but something about him i like. And Jeremy, the asian with freckles, is a robot and i cant stand him.

-I have been wondering this ever since i got back from NY. Why do people choose to live there?

-Someone at Anthropologie must think its funny to make my life more complicated. I was scheduled last tuesday to work, the first day back to Vegas from my trip, so i was up from 1am till 10pm. It was a nightmare. And then i was scheduled for inventory this morning at 5:30am-noon? Who is the looney tune making the schedule? Its called "availability" and im pretty sure i have it filled out so that i dont come in until 5:30pm.

-I love my job. Its 105 degrees outside today and its 68 in my office. GLORY GLORY.

-This last weekend i did a lot of lounging at the pool, and its going to be a really long summer of being in a office all day. Last year i only had to do that for half of the summer so i got enough pool time in. But this summer its going to be very minimal if any. Its going to be rough.

-Has anyone heard the song "Labels or Love" by Fergie? Its from the sex and the city movie i think, which makes me really not want to like this song but i do. It gets stuck in my head.

-I hate finding blogs of people i should be friends with. Like they know all of my friends and we just didnt overlap at the same time. I almost always compelled to leave them a comment because i feel like i am entitled to their friendship. its so weird and im sorry if i did it to you. most of the time i try really hard to not sound like a stalker.

-There is a fly in my office that will not leave me alone.

-Last summer i fell in love with Joshua Radin, and with the release of his latest LP (months ago) i have fallen in love with him again.

this weekend Linsey and Brian came into town from NY for Ivy's baby blessing. So all of our friends that were available for the weekend that live on the west coast, made the trek to St George for it. These pictures are not in order, im too lazy to do that, so deal with it.

Also big shout out to Ashley for our condo. IT WAS SO NICE!london in st george? katie rose? are you a lesbian?

Things that I like, that you would like too you if you gave them a try...

Here is my list.

Songs.
-No Air by Jordin Sparks and Chris Brown. This song is genius. Usually i am anti Jordin Sparks since she dethroned my man and possible relative, Blake Lewis and also cause she could KILL ME, but this is a hit. Especially after the SYTYCD by Katee and Joshua last night. HIT HIT HIT.
-No Day But Today from Rent. I dont know what it is about this song, but it is FUN to sing. Its a good duet to sing. If you're a girl, you sing as Mimi, its perfect.
-Time to Pretend by MGMT. Its sort of like happy robots, and it makes me want to dance around. Its a good song. Maybe it has some cuss words, maybe not, i cant tell because its robots.
-Sky by Joshua Radin and Ingrid Michaelson. Just a pretty happy song.

Books.
-The Choice by Nicholas Sparks. Sorry folks, i like Nicholas Sparks. It is something i cannot explain and makes me feel incredibly girly and nerdy but i like the books. Not so much the Notebook or a Walk to Remember, but the others. They are such good love stories and The Choice accompanied me on my subway ride around NY and i started it and finished it there and it really was so darling.
-Love the One You're With by Emily Giffin. Shes the one who wrote "something borrowed" and "something blue" and this is her newest one. I read this one pretty quick too. Just a couple of evenings of reading, and i loved it. Shes a funny writer. I almost feel like she is my friend. YOU GUYS I'M A TOTAL DORK.

Movies.
-Little Manhattan, i have discussed how much i love this movie previously on this blog, but we watched it a few times in NY and i fell in love with it all over again.
-Baby Mama is freaking funny and if you haven't seen it, RUN TO THE THEATRE. I saw this on opening night and have wanted to go back and see it again. Its good. REAL GOOD.

TV.
-So You Think You Can Dance? Lovin' this show. I have never watched it before, but i have watched the "No Air" dance probably 15 times today on Youtube.
-The Bachelorette, personally i thought Deanna back when she was on the bachelor was so boring and blinky, but this time she hasn't bugged me yet. I mean shes obsessed with people being there for the "right reasons" and insisting that she "knows" how the "feel" and its getting old, but i just LOVE anything involving rose ceremonies on ABC. Eat it up. Also i love Graham. SO HOT.
-Legally Blond: the search for the new Elle Woods honestly, whats not to love? Blonds, Overacting, shrieking and dancing. You know i love anything with a performance...and well this is a straight hour of performing so i cant get enough.

and there you have it. I thought i liked alot more stuff right now but i guess i don't.

the rest of NY

I made the trip east to New York this past week. It was fun, sweaty, dirty, hilarious and long. I have never been east of utah, well texas, and i hate humidity more than i hate rapists (not true, but almost true).
never go anywhere without the NFTwe ate at lots of fun and cool places...
here we are at Gustorganics, (notice the head(sweat)band. Very fashion forward, i am)
yummy pinkberry, love it. (holla! Kelly Jo)
pasta pizza and broccoli pizza at Prospect Park Zoo in Brooklyn
k so not the cutest picture of me but it was SWEATY and hot, and early and we were in this darling little place called "Le Petite" Cafe in Brooklyn and it was so magical with waterfalls and candles and it was so cute and delicious. i had to give it a shoutout even though i look sick.
and here is the McDonalds we stopped for drinks at in the Financial District, and yes, that is a woman on a balcony playing the piano and singing. We were in the Orchid Seated Terrace above where there were fresh flowers on every table. SO WEIRD. train ride from Grand Central Station to Times Square, where right before we ate Cheesecake at Juniors, so delicious and i felt like Serena Vanderwoodsen in Grand Central...very cool place.
this picture is probably my favorite. Asian-tourist peace signs, jumping up and down in front of the mtv store like a complete idiot. It was funny. There were people stopping and waiting and we took probably like 3 or 4 of these pictures.
Casey as Diddy.
just hanging out with some provo neighbors and my cuz. Hi Amanda and Michelle!
white faces at David Letterman.
just a couple of my friends that are moms. Camilla and Linsey (with Ivy) just hanging out at Linseys. Isnt camilla so cute and pregnant?
the cutest cookie bakery that ive ever seen in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn

Ground Zero
Just me and the Cuz
and here is Ivy when we arrived in Vegas, her first plane ride where she did not make one single peep the entire time, but did poo on linsey.

ok now for the real stuff....
New york is HOT. Its filthy, its crowded, and its HUGE. I never really knew this about myself until last week, but i never want to live in a big city. I mean i wont fight it, if thats the way things work out...but if it was my choice i would choose to live somewhere where folks rely on cars, play in the backyard, have real grocery stores, etc.
I dont hate New York, but i dont love it and i really dont see what the big deal is. Sure its rich with culture, talent and activities...and maybe i didnt appreciate it as much because i never wanted to leave the cold showers i took atleast twice a day. When youre sweating, nothing sounds fun.

I also saw some lesbians making out hardcore in front of me on the subway, lots of beggars, lots of unidentifiable liquids on the subway, and im pretty sure i got herpes on my hands from holding onto those rails on the train. WHY DONT THEY HOSE THOSE CARS DOWN EVERYNIGHT???

Camillas Shower

So im back from NY...it was a long trip. I guess i realized i am not so much a city girl as a suburbs kind of lady. I liked it, dont get me wrong, but i could never live there, and towards the mid-end of my trip i was ready to come back home. Everyone is going to think thats nuts because people go crazy for New York City, but it is what it is.

While i was there I was able to assist Linsey in throwing Camillas baby shower on her back patio. It was so darling. Here are some pictures...linsey and brian have this adorable patio on the back of their apartment in brooklyn, and before i left Linseys mom and i made these strands of flags for decoration, pretty cute huh? there were over 70 of them and it was adorable.fresh squeezed lemonade and little lemon cupcakes with a cherry on top.grilled pizzathe remains of the treats and a big fat zit on my chin :)
