this post is being made because my boss, Clay, really wants me to blog this.

*****warning***** its going to be kind of sketch-doggy dog, so dont read it if you get offended easily.

We had our regular weekly meeting this morning and were discussing a client. When i asked who the client was and what they did the crowd of fellow employees nervously laughed and so Clay had a coworker, Trudi go fetch the product. Trudi comes back into the conference room pinching the corner of a little black velvet bag with "C.B. 2000" embroidered fancily on it.

C.B. stands for Chastity Belt. Its a mens Chastity Belt. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? i still dont even believe its real, but their website states otherwise.

Apparently it was created by a couple, the husband having some infidelity issues. So to save their marriage they created a lock and key system to keep him faithful to her. Does this seem like a good idea to anyone? I kind of think that any self-respecting man would put his foot down and say "peace out" i mean the thing is made of hard plastic and looks, undeniably, uncomfortable.

Folsom Reception

60 seconds of sleaze...

So my good friend Kim has been on the radio ever since i met her a few years ago. She worked in Sacramento for KWOD 106.5 and used to get me into the best concerts. It was a great friendship. I mean 3 tickets to Coldplay for anyone of my choosing? It was awesome. She called me once with 2 tickets to see Deathcab and Franz Ferdinand if i could make it to the venue in 20 minutes (which i did) Anyway, she moved to NY, did some stuff there on tv and radio, than to Chicago. And now she has a morning show based out of Austin and she has enrolled me as her Celebrity Gossip Guru. Seems like a perfect fit right? I used to read US Weekly and People religiously. I would browse all the gossip sites constantly...i knew who was who, and what they were doing. WELL...i dont anymore. And i have to do my first segment today (its previously recorded since its the first one) and I have basically nothing good.

I called my friend Ty (i mean he lived in LA and calls Paris and Nicole his friends) and he told me some stuff, but i need MORE. and more juicy. Make it up for all i care, just give me something good!


as soon as i get the site to download the streaming audio of my lispy NON-radio voice, i will let you all know cause im sure youre REALLY into this.
my boss wants me to go by the name "the vegas virgin" so retarded.

WHO ARE YOU?

sorry for the lack of pictures...my sisters camera is broken and she uses mine, and somehow in the camera shuffle the memory card is missing (i blame it on her kids). But i promise there will be a picture of a wedding cake soon, and perhaps my birthday dinner with my vegas friends that is taking place on saturday. If i can find my camera...

TONIGHTS EPISODE

after being eliminated the lovely Michelle P (aka the CRAZIEST ONE) spouted this off through her tears...yes thats right, episode 2 and they are ALREADY crying.

"Im gonna go back and see my cat. And make sure that shes okay. It will be great to...(pause and whimper)...to have her purr again....and lay in my legs again and um....to be with her again because shes the love of my life at the moment"

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHA and this was not her most embarrasing moment of the night. Or of the show. Last episode she played the clarinet (how romantic) and earlier in this episode she broke out in song. Singing some little diddy she made up about how she wants to touch him and have him touch her. SO HILARIOUS.

Folsom or bust...now with an update

So we are driving to home to Folsom tomorrow, and a few things i am excited for are.

-Folsom Target
loved it. now bigger and better and i didnt buy a thing (miracle)
-Meeting babies
Cosette and Rafe were so darling and lovely and i want to take them back to vegas, cool kaisa and raquel?
-La Bou
ate there 3 days in a row. SO WHAT?
-Witnessing Kelsey and Glen interact (im so excited for this)
it was strange for about 30 seconds and then seemed completely regular and they are so cute and in love and i love them both and so this union has my stamp of approval. Not that they were waiting for my approval.-Seeing all of my friends
-Making a wedding cake
time consuming, learning experience, but lovely and also very fun. picture to come.
-Sleeping on my moms couch (its a comfy one)
couch is still comfy-A chance to break in a new pair of Rainbows
-Singing Michael McLean with megan in the car on the way there and back
we never broke it out. we still have the drive home. drive there was filled with mexicans and throw up. see megans blog)
-Not having to work (however, i do really LOVE my job(s)
it was lovely not working, but i am pretty excited to get back to work on tuesday and visit with all the office ladies over my birthday lunch at CPK, and my first REAL shift at Anthropologie! Happy birthday to me! 13 hours of work!
-Visiting with church friends at my brothers reception
It was so great to catch up with some of my favorites including Folsom's very own first lady, Kristen King.
-Making crafts with Kaisa
never happened. but we did watch her plump little wandering neighbor girl ride her bike up and down the block in lovely zipperboots.
-Getting my haircut by Raquel
got it trimmed right before finding out that the nasty girl on american idol was dismissed. Love it. Both the haircut and AI.

I LOVE FOLSOM!

i was able to do a few other things as well, deliver baked goods with raquel, multiple trips to costco, dinner at Jacks Urban Eats (yum), Pizzeria Classico, visiting with Ashley and Brittany, and the usual of just dreaming i lived here.

In honor of nates move back to the city of sin, we decided early in the week to go to dinner and make an evening of provo friends living amongst eachother in vegas.

First, KR and Nate came to pick me up with the surprise of Nates brother danny tagging along. He was in town for his nieces baptism from provo, and i just love danny, so it was a nice surprise.

We went to dinner at a yummy yummy place called Cozymels, where KR dined on EVERYONES food.


Next we headed over to the Miracle Mile shops to check out my discount at Urban Outfitters.


And then off to Red Mango for some delicious frozen yogurt, not so comfortable seats.
I would reccomend the yogurt TO GO.



Finale of the night was Dannys mean moves on Guitar hero (i just want to make this clear...he never surpassed any of my scores.


anyway, it was fun. We called it a night around 1 and i was, well...i usually go to bed at like 11. So i was tired. But it was fun to go out with old friends in a new place.

My 25th birthday is coming up (25 on the 25th! jubilee!) and this is my itty bitty wish list. Just in case you wanted to get me something...right?

What's in a Name?

Ever since i was a little girl playing house or dressing up my barbies for a fun convertible ride through the wetlands (car attached to my hand via a jump rope) I have always been fascinated in naming my children/dolls. I used to love love LOVE Crystal, it seemed like the most glamorous, feminine and beautiful name as a 7-9 yr old. Fortunately i grew out of that and into the next phase which was the Heather, Ashley (spelled Ashleigh of course) and i loved Brittany. That was around 7th-8th grade. In highschool i was a huge fan of Dawsons creek so i started like the girl names that were actually boy names inspired by "Joey" Dawson's love. I had dreams of naming a daughter Sam or Alex...and then slowly but surely i turned into a "surfer", being from california, it seems natural right? i mean i practically lived at the beach. HA. I loved the name Roxy and anything else beach themed. SO GROSS and so glad i have escaped all of those phases.

It just interests me so much, what people end up naming their kids. Do they make something up, Utah style? Stick to the bible classics? Its so interesting to me.

If i was to name my children today I would have a Stella, Bianca, Nina and Abe.

So where am i classified? Hispanic names with a little touch of US History?

What names do you like? I want to butcher them.

Am I all Alone on this one?

So Olivia just posted about how she watched Pride & Prejudice last night and how much she loves it...and well it seems like every female i know (other than my sister megan) loves loves LOVES anything even remotely connected to Jane Austen. Whether its a full on Jane Austen movie, or even just late 1800's bullcrap that seems Jane Austen-ish. I cant stand this genre of "romantic" movies. Why would i ever want or expect to be entertained by people speaking in Old English, wearing no makeup (see the new pride and prejudice and youre looking at a greasy, cat-faced kiera knightly the entire movie..no thanks), and doing things i cannot relate to (ie, fetching pails of water).

ITS MADDENING. Why does it feel like as a woman i am SUPPOSED to love these? I HATE THEM. Does anyone else feel this way?

Rascal Flatts: Concert Review

Ok,we went to the rascal flatts concert last night (we won tickets a couple months back) and it was pretty entertaining.
Aside from the fun of singing along to some of my favorites, and loving the lead singer's (Gary) bedazzled outfit-we were able to see a few other entertaining things.

EXHIBIT A: Superfan. Who i am pretty sure actually THOUGHT he was the singer/songwriter/megastar and was meant to be on stage.




EXHIBIT B: A very unlikely fan. I know you cant tell from the picture, but he was singing "life is a highway" like there was no tomorrow.


EXHIBIT C: An onstage proposal right before "God Blessed the Broken Road" how fitting right? You think thats going to be their wedding song? Ha.


Also there was a girl dancing like a crazy person for the ENTIRE intermission between kellie Pickler and Rascal Flatts. I took a video but it didnt turn out good. But it was a good solid 20 minutes of dancing, and she was thinking she was pretty cute but she was the exact opposite of that.

Anyway, it was a good time, a good show, and it was REAL good cause it was free. Joe Don sang one of my favorites "Pieces" and the drummer sang another favorite "You." Elisabeth mentioned on the view that when she went, during "He Aint the Leaving Kind" the marines came out...and they did that again. It was pretty cool. And who knew that song was religious? My sister and i were both like "ohhh what? this song is religious?" i guess we had never listened to the words.


Rascal Flatts= good show. Everyone go buy a ticket (or win a ticket) and go, cause it was SUPERB.

Little Manhattan: a movie reccomendation

Last night Katie Rose, Kelsey and I enjoyed this DARLING movie for our fun little girls night in (video to come shortly of Katie Rose feeding live crickets to the dragon/lizard--im babysitting/nannying for a family that has a dragon named Roxy and it was TERRIFYING to feed, so KR did it for me). "Little Manhattan," its SO cute. We were giggling and laughing at times and also a little bit sentimental during some of the cute and tender parts. Its such a cute show.
I was introduced to this movie last year by my old roommate Lisa. Its one of her favorite movies, and i think it may be one of my favorites now too. If you havent seen it, or even heard of it, I highly reccommend going to blockbuster and renting this little movie.

Plus it has the cutest song in the world! (as heard in the video)

(brief synopsis, without giving anything away: Following this little manhattan resident around as he falls in love with another little manahattan resident in karate class. Total puppy love, and totally adorable.
