There isn't anything much better than...

-Going to lunch with your MTC companion/Orange County neighbor. I love Kim. Breath of fresh air, she is.
-Watching the bachelorette with boys who say they think its dumb, but actually really like it and have some really hilarious things to say about it the day after via twitter and emails.
-Dinner of Oatmeal squares straight from the box, and yogurtland covered in candy.
-Getting to plan a last minute party and EVERYTHING falling into place for it very quickly.
-Making new friends who are hilarious and witty.
-Having a good cry at My Sisters Keeper on opening day, and only having to pay for 7 dollars cause its the first show of the day
-A roommate who lets me eat almost her entire bag of broccoli
-Same roommate showing you your new favorite etsy site
-Coming up with a pretty good painting idea that i will be adding to the little shop.
-Just having a good life and being happy. Life is good.

Yesterday was just a regular day

Ok I feel like a total idiot. Not a joke, i got 46 texts, tweets, facebook posts, emails and voicemails about people seeing me on So You Think You Can Dance. My roommate and i were cracking up, cause they just kept pouring in and we hadnt seen it yet. We were like "oh crap" and sure enough...HUGE CLOSEUP. great.

Picture 8

Last night before we went home and watched our dancing show debut, a group of us were invited to climb aboard the Old families yacht, the Capri. It was a lovely time. Thanks to Sara again for the evening...seriously, it was out of a movie or a rap video. you decide.

Na na na na...So you think you can dance, dance dance...

Rhyll, Katie Rose, Meridith, and myself made the trek this morning to LA to see tomorrows episode of "So You Think You Can Dance."

When we went to American Idol, we were bummed we didn't make a sign, because all of the signs others had made were...well...crap. So this time we came equipped and i made a sign that I was confident would probably be the best one there, even though i made it at 1am while watching Jon and Kate +8 (which happened to be totally tragic).

Don't want to toot my own horn, but it was the best one there.

When we got inside they told us that we couldn't hold signs, so we quickly spotted the Evan and Randi families, and they were more than happy to hold it for us. So make sure to watch for it, cause honestly if it doesn't make it on, I'll be shocked. The other signs were made by 7 yr olds.

Once the show started we were on our feet for like ever. Here's a picture of Meridith resting her feet by sitting on the edge of the stage (we seriously were front and center)
photo(2)
Katie Rose and Rhyll are giants in comparison to Meridith and I (and all of the Asians we were standing with) so they were moved to the back pit to the left of the stage with the rest of the tall peeps. And seriously the two of them are like in every single shot, which is hilarious. We were all excited to be there, but none of us wanted to actually be on the show. Hahaha its going to be good.
After the show, they taped "the Veronicas" singing and so Mer and i snuck over to rhyll and krs side, and found Cat Deely's Diet Coke. It was recognizable because no one had drinks, and she had that ridiculous straw. Anyway, we ditched the straw (when i say 'ditch' i mean i took the straw for zach as a souvineer) and then promptly drank the diet coke. Maybe thats gross to you, but we were desperate for some hydration. Ive never had diet coke that tasted as good as that one.

And there you have it. I got home at like 10, and I've been sitting ready for bed in my bed ever since.

I think I'm over getting tickets to shows. I take that back. I want to do price is right, but THEN I'm done.

(my life is better than your life, sorry)

Fashion Frugality

During these tough economic times, I thought i would share a tip I learned yesterday on how to save 60-100$ on a new church dress.

Step 1. Find a dress in your closet that you still like the fit of, but don't wear cause its WHITE .
n514971215_8774_9550
(YES! you're seeing this right, i used to wear blue hoop earings)
Step 2. Head to your nearest craft store (mine happened to be Albertsons last night at 11:30) and buy a bottle of Rit Dye in the color of your choice.

Step 3. Dye your previously white dress said color (mine happened to be navy).

(don't judge, still not totally moved into the 'ol room)
Step 4. Wear your "new" dress to church and feel really good about not heading to the mall yesterday to buy something new when that's all you really wanted to do.

I think I'll add a step five, and dye it navy again...it sort of is the color of denim, which ISN'T what was going for, but still wearable.

What have I been up to?

Last week i made a new kindred friend, Sara. She was planning a party for her darling friend Megan and we got together last week to plan this lovely party...mainly she planned it and i was her minion. It was a great time. Doesnt it look pretty?

Speaking of planning, Aubrey and i met with these two lovebirds at their reception site friday to get the ball rolling on their August 22nd wedding. Cant wait. Its going to be great.

Sunday i was able to go to the handsome Zach's graduation. Like my Paris Hilton pose?

Tonight, my roommate Meridith and I, took a walk around the neighborhood to collect boxtops for her 1st grade class. It was fun, we got to visit with our neighbor friends and work on beating Mrs. McViggers class..shes going down.
Rhyll joined in with us with scouting down the boxtops at the Villa, where she discovered this

yes thats a doll head. Reminds me of the days i used to sit in front of the tv at Chatham Towne in provo, watching movie after movie while practicing my corn rows on my doll head. Im still pretty good at those. Anyone want some?

my last day :(

Today is my last day or work in Vegas. I have been planning my departure from Vegas now for the last 6 months, so I didn't expect to be this sad.

This has been the best job that I've ever had and I really just wish i could uproot everyone and take the entire office to orange county. That would solve everything.

This morning Heather brought Hank in, and they brought me these flowers,
photo(48)
a hilarious card, and this darling drawing by Grace.
photo(49)
I'll Miss You too, Grace!
i think that's me inside the boat, the little red square marked "S"

And then all of the office friends got me this Ice Cream Cake...
photo(47)

good thing all i had today was a Dr Pepper and a teensy granola bar. Left a lot of room for cake!

I'm sad, but I really do love change, and I'm really excited to move on and be in California (zion) again, and not sweat to death everyday, to be near friends and the ocean....and to start a new job and focus more on the event planning stuff I'm doing. it will be good. I'm stoked.

Banana Cream Pie=Crazy Delicious

Today is my last day of working with Kayla. We met at Anthropologie, and I got her the job here at the office with me...and she has tomorrow off, so she took me to Whole Foods for a going away lunch of tomato pesto pizza and this delicious personal pie.
photo(45)
Banana Cream is my favorite.

Love her. Not too sad though cause shes moving to Southern California in just a month or two. THANKS AGAIN KAYLA FOR LUNCH!

What I'll Miss Every SINGLE Night

Megan: Lincoln, why aren't you in bed?
Lincoln: I need juice. I too very thirsty.

Famous.

Remember how my friend Michael is going to be famous?
Here is a still of him and lady gaga, and some football player guy.
Its her new video, "Paparazzi" and i would link it on here or put it up but its kind of sort of...risque at parts and makes me uncomfortable to watch.

michaelgaga
Gaga is CRAZYTOWN.

Congrats Michael. Youre really doing it.

The worst bachelorette ever....

Its one of two things
1) Jillian is not interesting at all and the guys are all idiots and not funny and stupid
or
2) I have drastically changed as a person to the point where i no longer love reality TV.

OK so i know its not number 2, because i THOROUGHLY enjoyed "I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here" (just ask my sister. i was yelling at her to "please come watch this, I'm dying of laughter").

You see, i don't love Jillian. I never really have. She is over-the-top cheesy with her "hot dogs" and her "prince charming" crap. I'm SHOCKED she didn't keep Sasha because of his weird "mythical unicorn," it seems right up her weird cliched alley. Sometimes i think shes beautiful, other times i think shes not really cute at all. Sure she has a great body, but a denim romper? Hmmm, sorry Jill, not cute.

I like Kiptyn, i guess. I mean hes the hottest for sure. He seems normal enough and boring enough to balance her out. Am i the only one who thinks that every time it shows them kissing, that its the most awkward looking thing ever? Its not working. I don't like it.

Reid came out of nowhere, and is a total doll. He is my first pick i think for her from what i can tell. Hes good looking and boring. Check, check.

Ed is my first pick for me. EXCEPTTTTTT #1 he left on his date wearing cotton jersey knit shorts. Gross. And then at the end when he was at the pool at Jill's house alone, he was wearing those short European speedo shorts. Double gross. What in the world Ed? Other than your choice in clothes (you're on national TV, people. If you aren't 1,000% sure that your outfit is awesome...please hire a stylist) you're pretty regular, and I like you.
Everyone else is a bunch of gays that are uninteresting and annoying.

i have a really good attitude about this, if you couldn't tell.

Announcement and some brain dumpage

So get this people...I FINALLY GOT A JOB IN ORANGE COUNTY! only after 6 months of looking. GEEZ. I start a week from today, which means i am moving officially from this hell hole known as Vegas, on Friday. I didn't think i would be sad, and most of me isn't, but i will be sad not to see my sister and my nephews everyday. Its been really nice having those little rugrats around to say hilarious things all the live long day. FOUR MORE SLEEPS till i have my bed back for good. SO excited.
_____________

Ok so now on with the Brain Dump.

  • i watched the MTV Movie Awards last night. Ummmm really? Twilight? I mean i don't really care cause its mtv's award show, but really? How come all of these actors and famous people who read scripts and win Oscars and whatnot, just sit idly by and seem enthusiastic that twilight is winning everything? HOW IS THIS MOVIE TAKEN SERIOUSLY? i really don't understand it. I mean sure, i guess its fine that people think its fun...but people are OBSESSED and it BLOWS MY MIND.
  • Recently i have been asked if i had to shop only at one store for the rest of my life, where would it be. My answer to all inquiring minds is: JCREW
  • I was watching Chelsea Lately the other night and was dying of laughter. She was talking about the John and Kate Gosselin scandal and said this "So apparently this little half Asian dude with the hair plugs is cheating on her. I'm not so much worried about that as i am about her weird, asymmetrical haircut. You're either a lesbian or you're straight. WHAT IS IT?"
  • Now that i am moving to California i am in love with this feature even more...automatic dark screen when talking on the iPhone. ITS genius. If i need to make a phone call while driving, the cops cannot see the phone lighting up my face, and makes me really happy. Not to mention i don't have to see the light, lighting up my face. Thank you Steve Jobs.
  • Why wont the swimsuit i want from Anthro go on sale? I'm sorry but i have a 40% discount, and its still like a hundred dollars too much.
  • The Hills finale was so good. Make fun of me all you want, but i did get a little bit teary-eyed when Lauren walked into the bride room and Heidi spotted her. I had chills. I feel like a pretty big dork for this, but it was sweet, right? On the other hand, if Lauren was a good friend to Heidi and really cared about her happiness like she said she does, she wouldn't of told her that the accessories looked "perfect" she would of said "you look ridiculous"
  • Derek showed me this a few months ago, but i still love it. David Archuleta singing "be still my soul" I love it because its beautiful but i also love it because some clown pulled out their camera and videotaped it right in the chapel. Hilarious.
  • Every couple of months i fall in love with something new-to-me from McDonalds. First it was snackwraps, then fruit and yogurt parfaits. Now its the cone. The perfect treat. Rhyll told me she got 5 cones in 3 days. And so i thought hmmm, i will get one. And now i am addicted. Well maybe not addicted yet but I'm on my way there. THEY ARE SO DELICIOUS.
  • This week is going to be crazy, packing, wrapping things up at work, running last minute errands, canceling my gym membership, painting, shipping, and then MOVING!!!!!
