Patches, we dont need no stinking Patches

My sister volunteered to make the cake for the Blue and Gold banquet tomorrow night, and so we have been brainstorming multiple ideas of an awesome cake. We havent exactly decided how its all going to go together but so far we have a two tiered monstrosity of a cake and a bunch of handpainted with food coloring, gum paste boy scout patches, and we even sculpted 2 little boy scouts. We will finish everything tomorrow but here is what we have so far...

-----also yes, they are lumpy, and yes one is wearing a snowsuit/is so fat...and yes one is missing an arm...but this was our first try at molding gumpaste people!

are you impressed? Cause you should be. Its taken all night and we havent even started watching American Idol yet....wah wahhhhh

Brain Dump

1. Im not a mom, but I am so excited that my nephew just potty trained himself. Hes gonna be 4 in May, so its about time, but still, SO EXCITING!

2. I'm nannying for a 5 yr old kindergartner this week and into next. His parents are going to London (so jealous), and I wish i had some good books to read during the day while hes in school. And also I will be driving the nicest Infiniti M35. Its a pretty sweet gig.

3. I think that i'm a pretty smart and tech savvy person, so why does everyone think i cant figure out photshop with a few basic instructions? thats all i need people.

4. The Office and 30 Rock are coming back at the beginning of April! YES!

5. Hailey got me a wolf shirt at jacob Lake this summer and sometimes i wear it (today) and it scares my nephews. I guess it is quite frightening.

----and yes, its an adult XL and i was wearing it as a dress. And yes, it does glow in the dark.

6. My phone is thisclose to being a total POS. the screen is broken and now today all of sudden i cant hear anything when im talking to someone. it sounds like they are whispering and its a nightmare. DAD I NEED THAT PHONE AND FAST!

7. Chi flat irons are also crap. Its not even a year old and it just doesnt work. just decided one day to break. its pretty awesome. Good thing i have this short hair that curls all up all nasty however it wants to. Cause i cant fix it now.

8. Why did i have to lose my rainbows right before moving to Vegas? Cause its like practically 80 degrees today. And who wants to wear shoes?

we are cheering him on over here in Vegas but he doesnt seem to need it cause hes freaking good and adorable.

thanks a lot Krissa...

Ha, so one of my highschool friends, Krissa, formerly known as Campbell, and I recently reunited via the blogging network, and so to celebrate she decided to tag me i guess.

So 5 random facts about me.

1. All growing up my parents listened to one radio station. Cool 101. So from a young age I learned every Oldies song ever made. Later on they intergrated Mix 96 and Y92, so i got the adult contemporary genre in me as well. You might say I'm a human jukebox.

2. I was OBSESSED with JTT (Jonathon Taylor Thomas, duh) and i used to tape record home improvement and handwrite all of his lines. Dont ask me why, i realize thats odd. And one time i even wrote the show with an idea i had for an episode which would obviously star me as JTTs love interest. This is completely true and it would be totally embarrasing except for the fact that i was probably 10 or 11, so that just makes it kind of cute and hilarious, right?

3. I've never broken a single bone in my entire body. I think, or atleast when i was in 5th grade, i thought i sprained my ankle but Im pretty sure i just rolled it and insisted on taking my sisters crutches that were to big, to school.

4. In highschool i played Basketball and i took it really seriously. I would go to the gym wearing cut off basketball t-shirts, and i would only wear my basketball shoes(Sheryl Swoopes Nikes) on a basketball court. I also went to the very first WNBA game with my AAU team in jr high. here is a picture of Rosie cheering on her favorite team at a wnba game. Sometimes when i wear basketball shorts to bed or whatever my brother in law gets the family to call me Rosie. So i thought this picture was fitting.
*********I dont play basketball anymore, i dont own a single cut-off shirt, and i am not and never will be a lesbian*****************

5. I hate seafood. Which means i cant catch on to the trendiness that is Sushi. I tried it and gagged and then threw it all up into a glass that was holding all of the water i drank to try to wash the fish taste out...Right there at the bar. Derek is my witness. It was not pretty and it was very embarrasing and I hate sushi, and dont even try to tell me it doesnt taste fishy because get real, it totally does.

Vegas: Not a destination

So last night not only were 3 Larson brothers sleeping on 1 queen sized air mattress (3 grown adult men) on the family room floor on their way back to Utah...but also one EMV (eric michael visser) had a 3 hour layover at the Vegas airport..so kelsey and i made the trip over to hang out with him. That is about all that went down this weekend.

and no, that is no J Crew model, thats just the way he dresses. Darling huh?

So moral of the story, no visitors, just passerbys.

Lewis Legacy

So if you cant tell by now, my all time favorite movie is Kindergarten Cop. I can't explain why, or how...but it is. Deal with it.

Well growing up it was also my sisters favorite movie and still one of her favorites. We would watch it over and over again and laugh and laugh at all of our favorite parts..."hey baby..."-"well whatchu mean hey baby?" or "i used to read this to my son..."-"whats his name?"-"who?"-"your son." (you will never understand)

Anyway i turned it on tonight and my 3 yr old nephew Jack was LOVING it. He was sitting there glued to the screen. I had to get a picture...

Happy Valentines Day!

this is my lovely sister and the wreath she made out of conversation hearts (obviously)

and here we have a valentine i recieved today from a child at the weird school. Its "SCRIPTURE CANDY"! if you look close it says "Reaching the World One Piece at a Time" and then has John 3:16 and also John 4:10. Its all about the love, people.

And dont worry the conversation hearts inside were just as good (to read, i didnt eat them).

A few of my favorites were
-Praise the Lord
-Jesus Cares
-God is Love
-Try God, and
-Jesus Loves You.

Surprisingly no "WWJD?". I have to say i was a little dissapointed.

Does anyone else watch this?

Chelsea Handler is quite possibly the funniest person on tv. I LOVE this show but strangely enough i dont know anyone else who watches it.

Tuesday: Art

i just got home from substituting art class at the weird mormons school, and you better believe i rectified my mistake of last time. The kindergarteners were asked "who is your daddy and what does he do" Not as funny, but still funny.

"my dad is chuck and hes um, a bishop."
"my dad is named beau and he does that game where you bounce the ball up and down, and he does push ups"
"My dad is Lane, he um does, i forget what he does. Remember the guys who get money? He tries to earn money. Actually...hes just a worker."
"my dad just goes to regular work"
"My dad goes to Ecuador, and when he comes back i call him an EcuaDORK"
"um, hes a worker and when he comes home from work he relaxes and watches tv."
"my dads name is john and he builds stuff. He builds like a house and stuff"
"My dad is dane and he plays video games."

there you have it. REAL LIFE Kindergarten COP.

Some other highlights of the day...(dont worry i writ these down on scrap paper to document them correctly):
-my mom says that kids whose parents let them watch simpsons are just asking for kids who are smart alecs. (3rd grader)
-(towards me) do you have a tattoo? Thats totally against my religion. (1st grader)
-a couple of 8th graders were talking...."liking you would be like me liking Jordan & that is just sick. I mean....ew!"
-(holding his valentines card that he made, a heart with flames on it) Im giving mine to my dad because he has a lot of heartburn....but i still love him (4th grader)
-(after a semi violent drawing) me: uh...thats not okay to draw at school
kid: but its a lamanite. they kill. (4th grader)
-as the 4th graders were leaving, inncocent mouse looking silent girl turns to me and gives me a peace sign.

3 random things...

1. If i win the nbc giveaway of a new Nissan Murano, i will FREAK OUT.

2. If you think you have adult chest acne, you probably dont. Its probably just a rash. Which is what i had. I know its gross but i thought i had some nasty chest acne for the last 6 months (tried pro-active, straight alcohol, benzoyl peroxide...nothing worked), and Michelle had this topical rash cream...and seriously after one day of putting that cinnamon smelling crap on, CLEAR SKIN. I feel like an adult again and i no longer have to wear TURTLENECKS everyday. Thank you Nystatin and Triamcinolone Acetonide Cream USP.
(i would like to clarify that it looked like a rash and it wasnt like thsee huge zits or anything, i am a very clean person who showers daily)

3. If anyone in the Vegas area ever needs a babysitter, im really good at it.

Hey its me Daniel, lets party!

this blog entry is devoted to the 1 and only Daniel James Visser, and the reasons why I love him.

1. Daniel often gets mistaken for this guy.

2. He had a birthday perfectly placed right when i wanted to start learning fondant which resulted in his 22nd Jazz Birthday cake.

3. He is always down to party. Any way, shape or form. The last party we had was at Pei Wei in Salt Lake about a month ago. He agreed to buy my tv, and the rest of the night he was down for me to create tasks for him to obtain not only my tv for a sweet price, but also my new HD DVD player. He wont allowe me to disclose the tasks, but they were good and we were all laughing REALLY hard.

4. Daniel is a rapper and has done a few songs. He sold one to me for 99 cents, and it is constantly in my head (hip hop, is so good to me...)

5. We were friends before his mission, and then he came back and lived with my little brother and now they are best buds, and its so darling and nice that the love of Daniel can be shared throughout the Lewis family.

6. He's as big as an ox, and if he was on the Real World/Road Rules Gauntlet III, he would dominate.

So in other words, Daniel...you should sign up for the real world so that you can preach the good word to those living in sin on MTV and also win 300,000 dollars. Deal???

Demand Proof

To all of you who love (to hate) the security summer sales industry (like me), here is a video for you....its hilarious....Good one Michael.

if you want to see what its spoofed after, visit www.iamapx.com

i would also like to add the disclaimer that its not just about APX but every security company. HILARIOUS

Someone deserves a grammy....

have you guys seen this video by Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt from the Hills? You probably wont be able to stomach most of it. Its hilarious to me and so sleezy. How can someone think they are that darling? She is so funny and i especially like her jazz hands...

So I have a thing for blonds....

I would first like to start by saying, i am not a lesbian in any way shape or form.

Ok, so i may have some girl crushes. Obviously just in the way that i might want to be in a book club with them, or go to a Outlet mall with them...that kind of crush. A friend crush, if you will.

Girl Crush #1 Elisabeth Hasselback (abc's the View)

Elisabeth is a well educated, mother of 2, who co-hosts the View. She is a republican who believes in strong family values. Shes adorable. She wears the cutest clothes of any of the hosts (i mean like its any contest...Joy isnt exactly a fashionista), has pretty blond hair, and she is a big fan of Rascal Flatts. I love her.

Girl Crush #2 Carrie Underwood
Ever since she was on American Idol I have loved her. I love her music. She seems so down to earth and humble, and you dont see that very often. Shes beautiful, shes dating a hot guy from Gossip Girl. And shes just all around darling.

I mean, who doesnt have a crush on these ladies? If you don't, youre a fool.

So Alicia brought Kelly Ripa to my attention and she is defenitely worth an honorable mention. She is hilarious and really does have the best clothes of anyone on tv.

Happy Birthday Kelsey!

Dear, sweet Kelsey turned 21 on Monday, and because everyone has crazy schedules we decided to celebrate it last night at the Cheesecake Factory in Ceasars Palace's Forum Shops.

Randy was in town from San Diego, and Doug joined us even after his traumatic accident from the day before (car vs. bike). it was a good time even though i had a seal cough and the starts of a baby migraine.

(this is doug not wanting to touch me in fear that i would cough all over him)

Brain Dumpity Dump

-Do people actually like the tv show Lost?

-Its really hard to win things on the radio. We won those Rascal Flatts tickets not caring and not even knowing what we were trying to win. But when we tried for the Brad Paisley tickets it was UNREAL hard. My sister has now been entering every contest she can find. Shes really hoping for the 25,000 dollar room-a-day give-a-way on the View. its pretty funny.

-I have been thinking of going back to my senior year of highschool by dying my hair blonde.

-I went to a country western bar last night in Vegas called Stoneys with Cyrus and Kelsey. I didnt know i was even doing anything until Kelsey called me at 11:45 when i was in bed. So i went to this place with no makeup on and the guy looked at my ID for a good long while not believing that I could possibly be approaching 25. Also why do people smoke? its sick.

-I have a lot of friends who posted President Hinckley memorial blogs, and dont be mad at me but i think its kind of weird. (i still love you guys though)

-Slim Fast shakes are NOT filling.

-Sometimes i think that Hillary Clinton would be better than Obama. But i dont like either. The country is in for a real treat come novemeber.

-My nephew Lincoln can say my name easily but he prefers to call me Grandma

-I found a bed today that i fell in love with at Walmart for 200 bucks. Its seriously a really cool bed and its coming from my most hated place, Walmart. Strange.

-I'm a really good babysitter and kindergarten teacher. Im just saying. Those kids LOVED me.

-How did i enjoy TV before i watched Friday Night Lights?

-Another great show, Celebrity Rehab on Vh1. Sounds ridiculous and i guess it is, but i love it.

-Oh yeah, i moved to Vegas. Suprise!
