Another night of yachting...

Remember how i spent that lovely evening on a yacht? Well we did it again, but this time to celebrate the birthdays of Sara and Ashlee.

My friend Arin's dad used to work with my dad in the early 80's. Her mom mailed her a few pictures of my dad that she found and looking at them makes me laugh so hard. I have been told i look like my dad...what do you think? I mean hes a man and has a mustache, but are we look-a-likes?

DIY Friday night.

My headboard is now on my bed, and im in love with it.
Its not perfect, which i like.


i think i'll curl up and read "the time travelers wife" tonight.


now i just need to get some bright euro shams, and a lampshade...

ps...in case youre wondering how its made, i just bought 2 yards of natural canvas at joannes for 10 bucks and hand embroidered it with black yarn.

Brain Dump

-I'm making this headboard. And I'm almost done. The embroidery is done, i just need to mount it...its going to make me feel really grown up to have a headboard.
-the wedding is over and i am back to my projects and my paintings, and that makes me really happy.
-my room is perfectly clean. All my clothes are clean and put away...everything is folded. The maid came yesterday and its just so nice to have vacuum marks on the carpet. I love that little maid of ours. She truly is a delight.
-the photographer for the wedding added a sneak peek picture on her blog.
-My sister Megan is coming into town this weekend. Shes seeing legally blond the musical with her friends. I'm jealous. But I'm not that jealous because i am going on a yacht birthday party for Sara and Ashlee.
-So happy my gay cousin Jeff Lewis and Zoila are back on Bravo with a new season of Flipping Out. I love him. Hes a maniac. Hes not really my cousin, at least not that i know of, but wouldn't that be fun?
-my roommate and i are opening a shop of sorts full of handmade wedding items like the banners i made for Lisa's wedding, ring pillows etc etc...i cant tell you all of my tricks.
-i really like this song, even if its sort of a song sang by a robot trying to sound like postal service.
-I'm taking JB to the airport in 10 minutes and just got an itunes gift card in my inbox for 10$ already thanking me for the ride. Pretty nice. JEFF I WILL TAKE YOU ANYWHERE YOU WANT JUST ALWAYS PAY ME IN MUSIC. Now i don't have to feel bad when i buy that Owl City song.
-Still in love with twitter.
-I haven't bought any new clothes since i have moved here. Just kidding, i bought a pair of pants at the gap on clearance for 11 dollars a month or so ago, but that's it. Pretty good for me.
-Yesterday morning i drove to Bolsa Chica to see the cast of 90210. I'm pathetic i know.
-I miss my nephews.

My first wedding...

and possibly my last?

well....probably not, but for now...im EXHAUSTED!

aubs and i did it all... (she was the florist i was the planner-we were eachothers slaves), we went to the LA flower market at 3am on friday, with no sleep...and worked all day. It was INSANE.

it all came together in the knick of time...and i've been searching for a few gray hairs, because i know i HAVE to have atleast a couple now...



my favorite detail was the hand embroidered banners i made. One saying "mr and mrs ashton" and the other one that was above the cake, and then later on the back of their getaway car that said "just married."

I'll bombard you with more pictures later, once i get my hands on the ones the photographer took.

i get my life back

Lisa and Rodneys wedding was last night, and boy am i tired.

Safe to say i wont be signing up to plan a wedding again...well atleast not for a long long long long time.

So over the last couple of months i have been compiling a list of all of the things i hear people say that i just want to laugh at and punch them in the face for saying...

there was some down time at the conference and the notes section of my phone titled "annoying sayings" was filled up by my friends.

Here's what we came up with as well as some that were on the list prior to the conference.

EFY(SA)

This past weekend the California Young Single Adults for my church were asked to participate in a weekend long conference as a pilot program for the rest of the country's YSA. Week after week at church we were asked to register for this extravaganza....you wouldnt believe the hype for this event, it was as if we were being told that the world was about to end, and unless we registered, we were going down in flames. Ok not really...

The conference was to take place all over california, all of the participants were together with other YSA's in their temple district.

Paparrazi was there in FULL FOURCE. There was no hiding from it.

We recieved our lanyards and name tags upon arrival, and then were sent to our groups (color of lanyard) to come up with a name and a cheer and were given a CD filled with Kenneth Cope songs. Just kidding.

We participated in workshops

ate delicious meals...

and were spiritually fed as well...

and then came back the next day to do it all over again in church clothes.

It was great and exhausting, and i am so mad at myself because i forgot to get all of my friends addresses so i could write them letters...DANGIT.

a regular tuesday night.

Tonight we had a little dinner party over here at my house. Heather was the cook, she made swordfish with pineapple salsa (obviously i had chicken), sweet potato chips, a delicious spring salad, and berries with vanilla ice cream and a cookie for dessert. We dined by candlelight on the picnic table in my sideyard...it was a good summer night with great food and even better company.

these impromptu outdoor meals really are fun.

oh yeah, i am bored with my hair and decided to cut bangs tonight.

i dont hate them, but i probably will very soon.

the truth is i just wanted to look like her...


ended the night with Kylee and a little "dating in the dark"

Follow Up

I wish there was something to report about tonights events with mr potty mouth bachelor man, but there isnt really. I got a good pick on heathers phone that wasnt stalker style, but what can you do...i dont have it on me.


He did tell us that if we wanted a reality show about mormons and how hard it is "going out in public" that he knows the right people and he could get us that show. And i said "hold on...how hard it is going out in public?" and Arin said "you mean, leaving my bonnett at home?" It was pretty hilarious. He then told us how it came out wrong and that mormon girls and married women are his two favorite groups of people...maybe he had a few margaritas at Fred's before he met us at BJs.

Here Kylee is telling him we will sadly not be crawling main street with him for drinks...We parted ways and met up with our friends at Yogurtland and then back to meet up with Jesse at a divebar in Costa Mesa where we listened to a METAL band and drank diet cokes. He told Heather he would be using her as his real estate agent when he starts looking for a home in orange county, and then we left.

Oh reality show stars. So exciting.

I cant believe i forgot to blog this last week....

Huntington Beach has a movie star roaming around and we found him. I have sort of the craziest talent of spotting and recognizing celebrities that i shouldnt recognize.

Maybe you recognize the young Captain Kirk from Star Trek?

I did.

Its weird, i know. He was so darling.

And just so my mom can rest easy, the liquor store also doubles as a deli that has the most delicious turkey & avocado sandwich that i order piled with sprouts. its delicious and contains no liquor.

Wonder who i will spot next? Stay tuned cause i got tickets to the SYTYCD Finale on thursday so maybe we'll see some stars....
