Happy Birthday Erin!

Today is my oldest sister's birthday.

Erin is one of those people who if you dont know her, you hate her. I mean that in the nicest way. She has ZERO pores on her face, can run a half marathon without training for it, and just whips up culinary masterpieces out of nowhere without a recipe. She is good at everything she does.

She is gorgeous and funny to boot.

If I ask her for help, or I need something she is there for me.

She is so caring and always willing to help out anyway she can.

She always makes an effort to come see us even though it's very expensive

She usually takes my side

She loves sports, and is a loyal fan to her teams

We love Erin because she is so real and genuine. You always know what she is feeling and thinking. She is honest and generous. She accepts people fir who they are and does not judge. The only complaint we have about her is that she lives too far away!

I remember sneaking into your bedroom when you weren't home, listening to whatever new CD you got in the mail from Columbia House, looking at your Bob Marley posters and hating your incense. I used to wish my ears were pierced so that i could wear all of your cool earrings (as seen above). You are the best oldest sister. Thanks for paving the way for us Lewis kids behind you.

Los Doyers

Saturday afternoon Kylee, Josh, Mike and I were given tickets to the Dodgers game from Kylee's brother. I had never been to a Dodgers game (I'm not really a fan of LA sports teams...at all) and hadn't actually been to a professional baseball game for probably 5 years.

The above picture shows that I'm having a good time, but don't be fooled.
The outing didn't start out so fun.

After sitting in an hour and a half of traffic just to get to Dodgers stadium (about a 15-20 min drive without traffic), we circled the park for another hour and a half looking for a parking spot...there wasn't one. Not one single parking spot. So we finally got there at the bottom of the 4th inning. The above picture is ky, me and josh just THRILLED to still be in Mikes little ford focus rental. It was hell.


we got some ice cream in little plastic dodgers hats and started to cheer up a little bit.


I'm not really sure what this picture is about, but i just love mike and it was so nice to have him in town. I sort of went into a mini depression when he left last night. I love it when my friends come into town.

As for the Dodgers, they won. Over the Yankees. Which is good since the Yankees are like the Lakers of baseball. But at the same time, the Dodgers fans were so annoying. People cussing people out who walked by in Yankees hats...one lady had a baby on her hip and was walking around giving Yankees fan the finger...real classy.

Baseball games are so fun though. Glad I got invited to go.

So I mean, shes kind of close to my beloved Benny. I'm sure she could put a word in.

90210 is for friends

Tonight we had an impromptu BBQ at Kylee's place in Beverly Hills.
It was so much fun.
The first hour it was me and Kylee and, no joke, 10 dudes. Awesome for us.

Unfortunately the girls showed up eventually. But fortunately, i have fantastic friends so I wasn't even mad.

some of my favorite men were around from Provo and it was fun to have the gang back together.
I think we've aged well.
We did miss Matt though.

It was nice to have an evening with friends, stress free. I've sort of had a lot of that these days.
Found a gray hair today even. Ughhhh, too soon.

I was just watching Chelsea Lately and saw this commercial (who watches commercials anymore?)BARELIFTS!

Its real.And i sort of want someone to buy them and then tell me if they work.
Also how gross/hilarious is it when they have one boob in the barelift and one without?

First of all its covered in pee... Second, i'm not a genius but i would think that line would start to fade. Right?

Brain Dump

-I love anything that starts with "Real Housewives" so of course I've been eating up the NY reunions. WOW Kelly is delusional. Ramona is hysterical. Bethenny would be my pal if i had to choose. I love them all. Except i don't love Countess, barf.
-The Lakers won in game 7 tonight. Without getting into my hatred for the Lakers, i will just leave you with this photo.

-Our ward basically hosted a casting call for NBC's Minute to Win It, and it was pretty crazy.

Here, Lindsey can be seen playing (AND WINNING) the final challenge.
Funny thing, they casted two of my good friends! Cant wait to hopefully watch them win a million dollars!
-I went to a cocktail party this week at the Four Seasons Hotel to network with people in the events industry. It was sort of fun. Beforehand we stopped by a custom invitation shop and upon walking in, found the Real Simple Weddings Magazine i am featured in. It sort of helped my credibility with the ladies.
-I was watching Jay Leno tonight, and Jonah Hill brought this youtube commercial to share:

Hilarious.
He then went to tell a story about John C Reilly emailing him saying "i need you to call me back, my phone is dead, so call me on my cousins number...its an emergency" and the number he left him was to Mr Spriggs BBQ. I laughed really hard. To myself. It was goooooood.
-Took 15 bags of clothes and house stuff to the homeless shelter today. It should make me happy but it really just made me depressed. Homeless shelters are depressing.
-A week or two ago i got to ride along in a super famous athletes Maserati.

I took this sneaky picture to prove to myself that I had in fact driven inside a moving Maserati.

Can You Feel Love Tonight?

I am rewatching the bachelorette right now with a friend, because last night chatty kathy mcgee made me miss most of the lines. I'm all for funny little comments but it was like the peanut gallery times 10 with this chick. I dont know who she was or where she came from but i hope she doesnt come back. Unless shes wearing a muzzle...that being said...

Roberto is hot, i wish he would drop the O on the end of his name. Chris is nice, i wish he would cut i out with the talk about his mom, its kind of insta-buzzkill. And Kirk is a good one too. I just wish his eyebrows werent BLOND but oh well.

We Love the Beach

When i was a senior in highschool, for spring break me and a handful of my best girlfriends went to San Fransisco for the week. I remember thinking I was such a grown up in a big city (even though Lisa's mom was there as our driver and chaperone).

This photo found its way to facebook and i couldnt help but blog it.
I'm "the beach" with Kaisa as "we" and Whitney as "Love."
We died laughing then and are still laughing now. Or atleast I am.

And its true, we still all love the beach. Whitney lives in Thailand now, im a hop away from the beach and Kaisa vacations on the beaches of Santa Cruz often.

My Thoughts on Homeschool

Recently i was asked what my thoughts are on homeschooling.

Well, I think its weird.

Ok well to an extent i can understand it. There are a lot of nasty kids out there, and why would you want to sign your child up to learn the stuff we learned from our "friends" (the nasty kids) in Jr High?

Ok my answer to that question is, if I liked jr high aged kids, i would probably be ok with homeschooling my own for 7th and 8th grade, but get real, they are all punks so mine will be shipped off via bus to the nearest middle school I can find.
To all you pro-homeschoolers reading this blog (first of all, who are you? I most certainly don't know of any of my friends who are pro-homeschool), its fine with me if you homeschool your children, but dont be gross and self-righteous and try to make everyone who sends their kids to school out of the house feel like terrible parents. It won't work. It will just make you look like you belong on an episode of wife swap-and we will proabably assume you homebirth your children too.

It's a Party in the Palisades

50th birthday party with 45 guests, a jazz band and singer, full lighting, a handwriting analysis lady,
red roses and chandeliers, a photobooth, and a TON of alcohol.

i want to tell you how much this event cost, but you would throw up all over yourself.

A little reading material

I just finished Emily Giffin's newest book. I'm not sure what i think.
on one hand, i really liked it. On the other, i really hated it. It was written like all of her other books, finished it really fast. But the subject of it just maybe rubbed me wrong?

Has anyone else read this? What are your thoughts?

Did i tell you guys that I ran into the filming for "Something Borrowed" when i was in NY?
I can't even wait until that movie comes out.

the NICEST woman in Hollywood

Met her last week, sat down with her for an hour today in her backyard.
So nice.
So down to earth, such a classy lady.

If anyone wants to know who my most favorite actress is, its her.

We talked about her neighbors homes in Brentwood and how shes not a fan of the monstrosities,
and wishes people would keep it simple and keep character in the neighborhood.
LOVED THAT.
Shes got a chalkboard painted wall in her kitchen, and her house is lived-in, nothing fancy. Seriously, i loved her.

Renting Sabrina tonight to watch my new friend in a movie i have heard is fantastic!
