Brain Dump Time

Haven't dumped my brain out in a while. I have had a lot swimming around and i need to get it out.

-i hate being sweaty. It feels like i am always sweaty these days and i don't know why because its not like its hot.
-i went to Cafe Rio 3 times this last week. Gross. I never ate there this much when i was in Provo or Vegas. Its the queso. It keeps me coming back. Its like crack. I'm sort of sad it took me this long. day 1 was Tuesday, girl time with Cami and Kylee (no picture)<span class=
pictures from day 2 and 3 at Rio this week, Wednesday and Friday. Peter was given a "free meal" shirt , the stipulation: you have to wear it in order to get the free meal. On Friday, my friend Lindsey (who is a celebrity makeup artist) moved to LA and I helped her so she did my makeup. That's why i have glamorous red carpet makeup in line at Cafe Rio. (she can do yours too for $250 bucks)
-I have decided to give up Dr Pepper. I found out that a 44oz Dr Pepper has like 800 calories or something crazy in it (i probably always knew that but was just pretending to not know) and it just seems ridiculous that I consume that many wasted calories. In an attempt to kick the DP, i am now trying to convince myself that i love Diet Coke. I cant completely get rid of the caffeine, and i cant get rid of the burn down my throat that i love....so Diet Coke it is. Some ask, "why not Diet Dr Pepper?" well, DC is way more accessible, and my taste buds are not stupid. Diet Dr Pepper is not a substitute for Dr Pepper. Hopefully this switch will just make me really skinny really fast.
-I can't stop listening to Lady Antebellum.
-I went to a park in Beverly Hills today by myself to paint. It was so relaxing and so nice to just lay on a blanket and listen to music on my phone on such a beautiful day.
<span class=
(for those of you FHS grads, yes that is Allison Rivard, class of 98)
-I have two birthday parties that I am working on right now that I am really excited about.
-Roxanne may as well move to LA because shes been here 3 weekends in a row and it makes me so happy. I love having my little kitty around to meow at. Last night we went down to the Santa Monica pier with my friends Josh and Chris. A good time was had by all. That place is dirty.
-Went and saw a movie this last week with Peter, Holy Rollers. A guy in our stake wrote it, and its insane. Really a good movie. Its Rated R, but its written by a Mormon so that cancels it out right? Its about Brooklyn Hasidic Jews who smuggle in Ecstasy from Europe in the late 90's.
-My friend Kylee is a yoga instructor and we are always playing around, shes teaching me weird crazy moves that make no sense. Anyway, she may be a yoga master, but she cant do a scorpion and guess who can? Me! I don't know how its even possible that i can do it. i guess i am just super bendy and awesome.
-Wedding season is starting, a new Martha Weddings just came out and its fantastic. All DIY which is, duh, right up my alley.
-I miss my nephews.
-I have no interest in seeing Sex and the City 2. None. None whatsoever. That show is dumb and stupid and not good. I don't know why everyone goes crazy over the movies either. Its the dumbest franchise and i hate it. Why was that show on for so long and Lipstick Jungle was only on 1 season? Now that was a good show...
-Is it weird that sometimes i think I want to marry someone who is divorced from a crazy lady? I mean, it would be kind of nice because then if i ever do something weird or annoying he will still think I'm totally awesome because i am always going to be better than the crazy ex-wife. Is that weird? It is, huh? ITS NOT MY FIRST CHOICE, I'm just saying.

American Idol Finale

americanidol1
Last night, the lovely Kayla provided me with 4 tickets to the American Idol Finale. Did you watch it? It was pretty awesome.
americanidol2
The lovebirds, Brandon and Heather came up to LA to join Peter and I in the nosebleeds. We picked up our tickets and then headed out to lunch. They ate at Phillipes, while Peter and I ran over to Olvera St for some DELICIOUS taquitos. We reconnected and headed back to the Nokia Live theatre just in time to get in line after Crystal Bowersox's parents. People were asking them to autograph their tickets. It was weird. People are weird. Autographs from famous people are dumb, and autographs from psuedo-famous peoples parents just make absolutely no sense to me.

The highlights of the show for me was, duh, Carrie Underwood (#1 girlcrush), Alanis (8th grade came rushing back with You Oughta Know), and the BeeGees singing "How Deep is Your Love."

Hands down the best was the tribute to Simon with all of the past winners. I am such a dork but i had chills and maybe teared up. I'm a loser, i know.

Lee won, who cares.

a photo on the way out of Peter and I, to prove I was actually there.

Jackson Stewart

Jack was my first nephew. He was teensy and wrinkly and looked like a little rat monkey cause he was so scrawny, and I had never seen a more beautiful baby. It was love at first sight.
IMG_0300
That was 6 years ago. Jack is 6 today. WHAT? He's in Kindergarten. He's really smart and tender hearted, and is a good big brother to Lincoln and Coleman.
jack
He is quite the talented little artist, he loves video games and can easily beat me at anything on the Wii, Xbox or Super Nintendo. He could probably beat you too.
PA260396
He is curious, sensitive and hilarious. He loves to get a laugh. He thinks its hilarious to always point out spongebob items when I'm around, or sing Spongebob's theme song to me (he did it tonight when i called to wish him a happy birthday) because I constantly tell him how nasty of a show it is. He thinks its HILARIOUS and it sort of is. He also has the memory of an elephant and remembers lyrics to every song (see here).
PA290419
He's trying to convince him mom to have another baby, which i personally hope he succeeds at.

He taught his brother Lincoln the saying "You get what you get, and you don't throw a fit" and its proven to be quite the tantrum-control saying in their house.

He loves ALL THINGS GREEN, Lego's, drawing, baseball and soccer, and of course Mario.

Wow this post is really making me miss him.

Happy 6th Birthday, Jack. You are a dream. And you're also growing up way too fast so please stop. Like your mom and i were discussing today, you're going to get awkward adult teeth soon and start reading chapter books, and I'm just not ready yet and neither is she so just be a little kid a little bit longer.

Your auntie JABS loves you!

Rated R(ose)

The clever title to this post goes to Dave.

OK so i was taking notes the whole time and was just going to post my notes in chronological order, but decided against it, because i had forgotten who half of these dudes were anyway. So we are going to do it with pictures.

First up...Justin. Aka Rated R
you're kidding me right? COOL NECKLACE buddy. And really did you need to say Jabroni's? What does that even mean? Is that a made up wrestling term that all wrestlers use, for douches?

Next is Kasey. Or as we have coined him "Deaf Jake"
The guy walks out of the limo and every single one of us was like...Jake? And then he starts talking...what is with his voice? Is he part deaf? I will feel bad if he is, but i think they would of already mentioned it...plus i looked. No hearing aids. The more he talked about himself with his weird voice, the more he sounded like Jake too. We were all so happy Alli gave the final rose so that we can keep using the nickname "Deaf Jake." Seriously, how good is that?

I don't even remember this Jabroni's name, and i don't have to and neither do you since he got kicked off.
if he would just cut his hair he wouldn't be that bad. But the hair/suit combo made him look like a villain from an 80's soap opera. Am i right, or am i right?

Here is puffy haired contestant number 2, Craig M.
too much going on with his candy cane tie and pocket square. Was the pocket square necessary? Were you on your way to your Jr prom? So strange. Mainly i like this guy cause he is the biggest jerk ever and makes for some hilarious TV. How funny was it when Rated R asked "do you spell Craig with a C or with a K" when he was adding his vote. FUNNY.

and lastly, my Pick. Chris H.i don't remember anything about this guy, but that's probably because he was normal. And he is by far the most attractive man on this show. But i could do without the dusty lavender shirt.

All in all, this season is going to be fantastic. Did you see the end where they show the clip of whats to come this season? There was a dude with a huge back tatt that i couldn't figure it out who it was...but whoever it is, i have decided is my new pick, not Chris H. Cause you know how i feel about a man with some nice tattoos.
(i realize the phrase "back tatt" is totally WT but oh well)

Dear Mark Sloan,
You are McSteamy, McDreamy and McDelicious. WOW, the perfect mixture of badass and nice guy. I would gladly have your baby. I LOVE YOU.

Dear Jackson Avery,
How do you have the most perfect blue eyes? I wouldnt mind getting lost in them. I do have a bone to pick with you though...Christina Yang? You find her attractive? That cat-faced nasty? It actually probably wont work between us.

Mrs. Dr. Mark Sloan it is.

The Best Part of LA...

...is the Venice Canals.

Peter, Roxanne and I visited them late tonight, and it was just the most magical little neighborhood.

How cute are these homes? Does it look like a fairytale or what? Are you with me?

I've been wanting to visit since i was reminded of this darling place when we went to go see the movie Valentines Day.

Time for Bangs

Well folks, its that time again...that i realize that my forehead is actually a five-head and that i have no business running around without any bangs. Cutting them tomorrow.

On an unrelated note, Hillary came into the city tonight so we took a stroll around town and ran into some filming for the movie "Something Borrowed" which just happens to be the cutest little book that i didnt even know was being made into a movie...so that made me excited.

another discovery from this picture, Large bags i love...however why did it take me so long to notice that they may look fun and cute and are functional on tall models and movie stars, but on me it looks like luggage. efffff.

the end.

Cheers...

Dear Lincoln/stinkin lincoln/stinky pete,

You are 4! I can't even believe it! Remember how when i first moved back to California i had a conversation recorded with you on my phone that i would listen to when i was alone in my car and just cry so hard because i missed my sweet little buddy? You are getting so old, with such a cute personality and raspy voice to match...and i cant wait for you to keep growing up and keep getting funnier. I've been fortunate enough to be around you from baby to 4 year old, pretty much, and it has been nothing but a joy for me to be your aunt (your favorite aunt too, duh). I hope i get to see you soon so i can get your "help" making cookies, teach you crazy things like acting like a cat and licking people and thinks to annoy your mom, tell you your favorite shows are are nasty (wonderpets, cailou and spongebob), and sing along to the hippest Usher pop songs word for word.

I love you little Linc. You are one of my best friends and I hope you have a fantastic birthday! (even though you think your birthday was yesterday because your mom tricked you so she could have mothers day all to herself....)

Love, Auntie Shauna

Wishing

I had this outfit.
Screen shot 2010-05-06 at 6.56.47 PM
How perfect is it?

a night in The City

Yesterday i had the opportunity to tour the Martha Stewart offices. Talk about cool. And maybe i ran into the one and only Emeril while i was there.

I got to see july and augusts magazines, as well as 2011 weddings! wooohoo so great.
marthaAnd i also saw this project and picked it up not knowing what it was for and was pleasantly surprised to see it here on the MS crafts blog this morning.

Dear Martha, give me a job?

After the tour was dinner at Pastis where I spotted two reality show stars.
pastis
I need a job where my primary responsibility is spotting anyone who has ever been on TV or in a magazine and knowing their name. I could make a lot of money doing that.

2 things

New York is HOT and humid right now. Not as terrible as last time, thankfully.

2 things today that i liked.

First, this blogpost giveaway by Lisa, ummmmm i need to win that necklace. If you want to win, go enter (but im hoping you dont so my chances of winning it are better).
Screen shot 2010-05-03 at 12.41.13 PM

Second, how tan am i in this picture? It was in February from the night of Dave's birthday party I threw. How was i so tan in February? It was the same weekend as the manual labor of the Bachelor Wedding so thats how, but its depressing that I have only gone backwards back to looking like a ghost and its basically summer.

Schnipper's

Well folks, after a full day of travel yesterday, I made it to New York.

And today after church, stopped by Natalie's studio apartment (its so cute) and then we, along with Peter, ran into Brooke Shields, (hes in town too! How fun!) went to Schnipper's. I've got a cold all of a sudden and nothing sounds good so I got myself a Dr Pepper, but the joint looks legit and delicious.

30735_388393476215_514971215_4604313_2491341_n

not my cutest photo, but its all we took.

Tomorrow i get to play with the cutest 2 yr old all day long.

sidenote, so weird being in NY at the same time as Peter. All day we just kept saying "this is weird."
