i just got home from substituting art class at the weird mormons school, and you better believe i rectified my mistake of last time. The kindergarteners were asked "who is your daddy and what does he do" Not as funny, but still funny.
"my dad is chuck and hes um, a bishop."
"my dad is named beau and he does that game where you bounce the ball up and down, and he does push ups"
"My dad is Lane, he um does, i forget what he does. Remember the guys who get money? He tries to earn money. Actually...hes just a worker."
"my dad just goes to regular work"
"My dad goes to Ecuador, and when he comes back i call him an EcuaDORK"
"um, hes a worker and when he comes home from work he relaxes and watches tv."
"my dads name is john and he builds stuff. He builds like a house and stuff"
"My dad is dane and he plays video games."
there you have it. REAL LIFE Kindergarten COP.
Some other highlights of the day...(dont worry i writ these down on scrap paper to document them correctly):
-my mom says that kids whose parents let them watch simpsons are just asking for kids who are smart alecs. (3rd grader)
-(towards me) do you have a tattoo? Thats totally against my religion. (1st grader)
-a couple of 8th graders were talking...."liking you would be like me liking Jordan & that is just sick. I mean....ew!"
-(holding his valentines card that he made, a heart with flames on it) Im giving mine to my dad because he has a lot of heartburn....but i still love him (4th grader)
-(after a semi violent drawing) me: uh...thats not okay to draw at school
kid: but its a lamanite. they kill. (4th grader)
-as the 4th graders were leaving, inncocent mouse looking silent girl turns to me and gives me a peace sign.

Man, kids are hilarious- Sydney is funny enough now I can't imagine how much fun we'll have together once she can make sentences. Good luck with the Mormons!
I love reading about your subbing!
Sounds like some of those kids need a little more coaching at home, or a little less...
I LOVE that you're living the KC dream. Next stop? Governorship!
rolled at the peace sign and the simpson's commment.
the mouse looking girl comment is my favorite. you are a CHAMP shavs! :)
I love your kindergarten adventures! Still don't know how I feel about a sub with no credentials... :)
i hope you wear a whistle and a nasty shiny sweat suit tomorrow.
"but it's a lamanite, they kill"
HAHAHAHA
You would think that that sort of thing would never be heard of outside of Utah.
So funny! I even had to read some to Matt.
