Here's a thought...

What are the effects of consuming energy drinks?

• Individuals who regularly consume highly caffeinated drinks have a higher average blood pressure
than those individuals who do not consume any caffeine.
• Heart irregularities
• Acts as a diuretic and promotes dehydration. In turn, dehydration contributes to fatigue.
• Sleep deprivation
• Since energy drinks are stimulants and alcohol is a depressant, the combination of the two together
may be dangerous
• Electrolyte disturbances
• Nausea and vomiting from consuming excessive amounts

Eric and I LOVE the Guava flavored ones (come in the purple can). I'm not a huge fan of the orange can, red can (pomegranate) is pretty good, and I actually really like the new blue can that is zero carbs. If you haven't, I'd definitely recommend trying the purple can...But not if you have a tendency to become addicted to things, the delicious flavor + the caffeine = not good for the addictive.

whitney i agree with all those points...however i drink one only at times of extreme fatigue, and i usually have to make sure to follow up a can with a bottle of water because the after taste is pretty nasty.

Nakita, the guava kind is so good, and i also really do like the pomegranate the best, but today i tried something new. And youre right, orange can, not as good.

1. Expensive.
2. Bad for you.
3. Habit forming.
4. Bad for you.
5. Unnecessary (getting 8 hours of sleep does wonders).
6. Throws off your body's circadian sleep rhythms (impacts cognitive abilities and the transfer of memories from short term to long term memory).
7. All that stuff Whitney said.
8. They STINK!

On the whole, I'd class them as a bad idea, personally.

Hahaha! Sugar Free Red Bull is my guilty pleasure. They are SO BAD for you, I just wish they had soda that tasted like Red Bull so that I didn't have to give myself heart palpitations every once in a while the tasty goodness!

shauna, i will tell you right now that these silly little things will kill you about as fast as a big mac will.
everything in moderation of course, dear, but i'm pretty sure you're not worried about the long-term physical effects of the occasional can of monster. haha so funny that you drink a bottle of water after. what a careful sinner you are! this cracks me up. you're cute and i like you. k bye.
