Shameless Self Promoting Dump

As i sit here at my desk eating this delightful McDonald's fruit and yogurt parfait (how did i live without these for so long?) I cant help but have a few things on my mind that need to be expelled from taking up room in my brain. So on with the brain dump.
  • Trying to get Mothers Day painting orders in as early as possible so I'm not in a mad rush (probably still going to happen, but what can ya do?)Untitled-1
here are a few i have done for mothers day (not sure why they are blurry, check the non-blurry images of them out over on the site) I worked my butt off this week to be able to post one new painting each day and i have to admit, I'm pretty pleased with myself. I was able to get a lot of really cool new ideas painted, and I'm excited to do more.
  • Also i am really trying to make a good living off of this side business of mine, and Barack Obama and his economy are making it kind of difficult. So dear friends, if you plug me on your blog...a good, honest, thought-out plug and one of your friends orders a painting. I will paint one for you for free. Maybe you will have to pay shipping. But i will do it for free. A small one (like 10x10 or 12x12 or something) of anything you want. If you don't have a blog, and your friend orders one, that works too. And i probably wont get around to them before mothers day, but just talk to me and we can figure out when and what and where and so on and so forth. Thanks guys! (for those of you who have already done these great little blog write ups and one of your people ordered a painting, maybe we can work something out...email me shavs.lewis@gmail.com
  • I'm going to the Getty tomorrow. I'm really excited. I have never been but i have seen everyone's pictures and it looks so beautiful and fun, and I'm excited about the company that will be accompanying me.
  • Still loving the iphone. Not as attached to it a week later, which is good news.
  • All of a sudden I'm kind of starting to feel like i understand twitter a bit more. I am trying to really get into it so that i can really use it as a marketing and networking tool for my business, and so far so good. Don't be shy guys, follow me on twitter!
  • I built this vanity in my room in HB. There was this weird nook in the wall right by the closet that is a total wasted space. So the extreme makeover in me decided to build a little spot to do my makeup (store my ribbons and crap?).
    vanity
I bought the shelf at ikea, had it cut at home depot, bought the brackets at Anthropologie (sad, you cant see them, they are really pretty) the cording for the light at ikea, lampshade at target, mirror from momma, put it all together and ta-dah! Instant vanity. I love it. I really really love it. I will take pictures of the entire thing clean and pretty when its all done and when i actually live there.
  • I'm working on a few different parties right now to build my portfolio and its so much fun. My thoughts have been consumed with favor boxes and menus and invitations and it couldn't make me happier.
(just got some temporary tattoos in the mail today for some favor boxes...its going to be great)
  • Why are people so nasty?
    nasty
Multiple things wrong with this. 1. the actual sticker. Seriously? You thought this was great? You thought it was great enough to actually buy? 2. Why the H do people put stickers on their car? Its disgusting 3. You have the guts to DRIVE around town with not only a sticker on your car, but THIS sticker? REALLY?
fruit and yogurt parfait...finished.

FYI--I need to order one (maybe two) painting(s) that would need to be ready first week of June. Will you be around Vegas still? If I order the second painting, it will need to ship to Germany, any idea how much that would cost me?

I loved everything about this post. Stickers of any kind are disgusting. And I am TOTALLY posting you on my blog because I want that free painting from you! I am far too lazy these days to attempt it myself. I am loving all the color ones! You are so dang good.

Bumper stickers = mistake of disgustingly extreme proportions.
