I'm just going to say this at the risk of sounding bitter (im not)....
If youre a newlywed and you call your husband your "hubby" basically i want to punch you in the face. You might as well just call him your lover. Just as annoying but funnier because its slightly creepy.

Like, who doesn't call their husband "Hubby"....Sounds to me like "someone" is a bitter woman scorned...And, yes I'm not leaving my name on this....SUCKA!

My favorite is when some 18-year-old newlywed calls her husband hoTT. Yes, with two t's. I just think to myself, you're not old enough to be married if you want to do that.... uh uh.
How about the other side of the coin? "The wife" has to be one of my least favorites.
Come to think of it, after last week's The Office, I'm not sure I like any of those quasi-endearing terms like honey, hon, sweetie, or whatever. Unless you're over 80 or so. It's OK then.
Sometimes I call ally hubby is that wrong?

I never refer to him as hubby, however, in emails, in the name of saving time, i sometimes shorten husband to hub or hubby. in written form only--not in convo. And i agree with you--although i have never heard anyone actually say that in real life.
BTW-- Julie said you were so much fun! Ok, so Christian and I got in the VERY bad habit of calling each other "lover" after we started making fun of my sister and her husband for doing it. We can't break it and I honestly get so embarassed when we slip in public and I wonder what our friends are thinking! Ahhhh! We need help!
