Who DOESN'T love the Olympics? Ok that came out wrong. Its not that i don't like the Olympics, i think they're fine. But the facebook status updates, the blogging of the opening ceremonies, the constant "I AM LOVING THESE OLYMPICS" proclamations...they are making me feel very unpatriotic because i do not have these same feelings.
Don't get me wrong, i will probably watch (and enjoy) some gymnastics, some intense swimming, and maybe some diving...but other than that I'm just not really interested.
Am i alone in this?

I watched the Opening Ceremonies for the first time this year. And I'm definitely not going to watch any of it, except for maybe a little gymnastics. blech who cares?
Nope, your brother feels the same way. He likes the basketball, baseball and maybe a little track... pretty sure he watches those all year long though so who really cares. And he seems to be a little bitter since Golf isn't an Olympic sport... give me a break.
I on the other hand LOVE all things Olympics. I could just sit there and watch them all day. Like yesterday when Jordan was watching some boring golf tournament, I just kept making him turn to the Olympics so we could watch Beach Volleyball and Women's gymnastics. And let's not even forget the AMAZING swimming last night by the Men's Relay team... AMAZING!
So come on Shauna! These only happen once every four years and you are missing out!!!
We already discussed this via gmail, but you know how I feel about this. I do not get the obsession with the Olympics. I will not be DVRing it, or blogging about how great they are. Man, good thing I wear my American flag pin, or I would totally be unpatriotic. (being a non-obama fan i hope you get that joke)
oh the olympics are on?
[kidding]
my husband loves watching them, but i think it's so boring! so we compromise by turning off the tv + playing boggle. [that should be an olympic event!] what are we 80?
you'll have to let me know how you like your nikon... i had a really hard time deciding between canon + nikon! they're both so good!
YES. You should be kicked out of the U.S. Kidding. I mean the opening ceremonies were BORING, but their are so many good events. We were sad that we didn't get to see you again before you left. Move home already!
I think they Olympics stink. I love my country and all that jazz, but I just don't get the whole Olympics-mania thing. I don't even know who the athletes are except for the ones Perez posts about for being shitless. I guess it's sad, but I don't condider many athletes like heroes anymore like when I was a kid...they make way too much money, cheat on their spouses, and are not really any sort of hero-material that I want to waste my time watching. (Yet I will still waste my time reading Perez, go figure!)
Someone thought the opening ceremonies were boring?! Okay, I love everything about the Olympics (except for fencing, but even then I still watched it). These people have worked their whole lives and can do something better than anyone else EVER COULD! I love it. I love it. My TV has been on almost all day since they started. And I stay up as late as possible just watching "one more event." I mean, think about it... It is already insanely hard to do something cool off a diving board. Imagine being 7 meters higher and doing it in unison with someone else?! Olympians are amazing. I love you Shauna, but I completely disagree. ;-)
I didn't think I cared that much either, but then Nick was watching and I was reading (Peace Like A River, it was very good by the way) and I had to put it down because I got so enthralled with it all. Now I can't stop watching. I love the swimming especially, and yes Kristine that relay was unbelievable. I was supposed to be going to sleep but then my adrenaline was pumping like crazy and I was so excited. Doesn't that sound awesome??? You have to give them a try. They will suck you in.
